Special Education is a specially designed instruction which meets the special needs of children with who are differently-abled using special instructional material, and teaching techniques. At present we care for over 120 children with different challenges such as Cerebral Palsy, Down Syndrome, Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD, MR, Visually and Mentally challenged conditions, free of cost.

Each child is unique; so specific individualized educational programs are used for each child based on the current level of performance. We have adopted a functional, age-appropriate, child-centered and activity-based curriculum. We aim to meet the goals of special education which is to prepare our students for independent living. Students are divided into different classes such as care group, pre primary, primary, secondary and prevocational.

SpecailEducation1Special education teachers use various techniques to promote learning. Depending on the disability, teaching methods can include individualized instruction, problem-solving assignments and small group work, as well as electronic teaching aids like iPad and audio-visual aids. Teachers help to develop an Individualized Education Programme (IEP) for each child. The IEP sets personalized goals for each student and is tailored to the student’s individual needs and ability.

Teachers Impart training to children to achieve the activities of daily living skills and cover the core areas such as personal, social academic, occupational, and recreational. It extends up to preparing children for appearing in Class 10th examination, conducted by National Institute of Open Schooling(NIOS).

SpecailEducation2Teachers work closely with parents to inform them of their child’s progress, on a monthly basis and suggest techniques to promote learning at home. They are involved in the student’s behavioral, social and academic development, helping the students develop emotionally, feel comfortable in social situations and be aware of socially acceptable behaviour. Special education teachers communicate and work together with parents, social workers, speech therapists, occupational and physiotherapists and school administrations.
